So, I recently checked out this little gem called Warung Bu Pon in Jimbaran, Bali, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! The vibe is super chill, and the prices are totally student-friendly, which is a huge plus. I mean, you can grab a meal for around Rp25,000-50,000 for lunch and even less for dinner. Not bad, right?

I ordered a few things like Nasi Goreng, Kentang Goreng, and Lalapan, and honestly, everything was delicious! I even heard someone say, “Thank you so much for Warung Bu Pon, I love their cooking so much. I don’t know if it was a mistake or what, but I ordered the chicken lalapan twice and ended up getting a complete package (with rice) instead. Thank you so much, may your fortune flow smoothly!” How sweet is that?

Another review I came across said, “Delicious and balanced meal! Did not expect it to be spicy, but luckily it was only mild and it adds to the flavor. The egg balanced it out.” And I totally agree! The food was really good and affordable. Plus, the seafood was on point!

However, I did notice some mixed reviews. One foreigner mentioned, “My experience as a foreigner living in Indonesia and speaking the language was bad. The place is too local but I don’t mind, food is not bad and cheap. However, after I talked with everyone as they kept asking questions and talking about me, they charged me extra. Prices are listed, so when I asked why, they simply said ‘price for tourist different.’ They charged me extra for being who I am, and that is not ok.” Yikes, that’s a bit of a bummer!

On a brighter note, another visitor said, “I was here a few times as I was staying at The GWK View Guest House next door (lovely place if you want to stay in the area). Food was great every time. One meal I had the Nasi Goreng with fried chicken; perfect spicy level & chicken was super crispy.” Sounds like a solid recommendation!
