Waroeng Bernadette
Bagus
So, I recently checked out this Indonesian restaurant called Waroeng Bernadette in Seminyak, and let me tell you, it was a pretty solid experience! The place has a cozy vibe with a rating of 4.0 for atmosphere, which is nice for a chill dinner. I went there for dinner, and the food was rated 4.7 out of 5, so I had high hopes!
I ordered a few dishes: the Authentic Beef Rendang, Sate Ayam, and Lumpia Goreng. Honestly, everything was delicious! The beef rendang was definitely the star of the show. I mean, people have been raving about it, and I can see why. One review I read said, “This is the best Rendang in Bali,” and I totally agree! The flavors were on point, and the portion sizes were generous.
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the traditional oxtail soup. It had the perfect amount of seasonings and plenty of oxtail! Plus, it came with a side of rice and prawn crackers at no extra charge. The wait for the food was a bit long, but the driver was super communicative and apologetic about the delay, and honestly, the food was well worth the wait!
Now, I did come across some mixed reviews. One person mentioned that while the food was just average, the cocktails were overpriced, especially the margarita, which cost IDR 230,000 before tax. They felt the atmosphere didn’t quite live up to their expectations given the price. Another review praised the air-conditioned interior and impeccable service, saying they had lunch there three days in a row because the menu was so enticing!
What I loved was that they had great vegetarian options too. I tried the Vegan Rendang, and it was amazing! Even my non-vegetarian husband gave it a thumbs up. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. One couple mentioned their waiters, Kedak and Dedy, provided amazing hospitality, and I can totally see why!
Overall, Waroeng Bernadette is definitely a place I’d return to if I find myself in Bali again. The food, the vibe, and the service made for a memorable dining experience!

Located at Jl Kayu Aya No 17, Kayu Aya Square, this place has some pretty solid ratings: Food 4.7/5.0, Service 4.0/5.0, and Atmosphere 4.0/5.0. Not too shabby, right?
For dinner, I decided to go all out and ordered a few dishes: the Authentic Beef Rendang, Sate Ayam, and Lumpia Goreng. Honestly, everything was delicious! I mean, if you’re going for authentic Indonesian, you gotta have sambal, right? It just makes everything pop! I also heard from some folks that the Vegan Rendang is a must-try, and even my non-vegetarian husband gave the Jackfruit rendang a thumbs up!
Now, I did come across some mixed reviews while I was there. One person mentioned that the rendang was a bit bland and lacked that kick, but they did say the meat was super tender and the presentation was on point. Another reviewer raved about the beef rendang being perfectly cooked and loved the ambiance for a date night. They said it was classy with great music, which totally adds to the vibe!
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the service! The staff were professional and friendly, which made the experience even better. I had a little hiccup with my order being incomplete, but what I did get was tasty, so I can’t complain too much. Plus, it’s super easy to order and pick up your food, which is a bonus!
Overall, Waroeng Bernadette is definitely a spot I’d hit up again if I find myself back in Bali. Great food, decent prices (around Rp200,000-225,000 for dinner), and a lovely atmosphere make it a memorable dining experience. If you’re in the Seminyak area, you should totally check it out!
