So, I recently checked out this Indonesian restaurant called Ulekan in Canggu, Bali, and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat! The place has a solid rating of 5.0 for food and service, and I totally get why. The atmosphere is cozy, with a score of 4.7, making it a great spot for dinner.

I decided to go all out and ordered a few dishes: Nasi Kuning, Sate Ayam Madura, and Sate Babi Samcan. Everything was delicious! Seriously, Ulekan never disappoints! It’s my favorite place in Bali for local food! The skewers were all top-notch, and I can see why people rave about it.

One review I came across said, “Ulekan is a delightful dining destination that truly celebrates Indonesian cuisine with a modern twist.” I couldn’t agree more! The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for casual meals or special occasions. They focus on freshness, using locally sourced ingredients, which really shines through in their signature dishes like the rendang and sambal. The staff is super attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the best pairings to enhance your meal.

Another guest mentioned, “Wonderful experience of Indonesian food,” and I totally felt that vibe. We had a group of six, and the food came out fairly quickly. Just a heads up, the portions are more for 1-2 people, so if you’re with a bigger group, definitely order more. We sat outside, and it got a bit noisy with the traffic, but it didn’t ruin the experience at all.

And get this, someone said, “This was our first return visit to Ulekan after 5 years and it absolutely did not disappoint!!” That just shows how consistent they are! The staff is amazing, and the food is to die for. If you want good quality traditional Indonesian food, this is THE ONE!

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the amazing range of local food with a modern twist. The Beef Rendang was soft, juicy, and succulent, while the Pork Belly Satay was fatty and flavorful. Their sambal varieties kept us coming back for more. And the Balinese Banoffee? Wow! It had a hint of cinnamon that tied the banana and chocolatey taste together into a wonderful sweet treat. Definitely a must-get!

All in all, Ulekan is a must-visit if you’re in Bali. I can’t wait to go back!
