If you’re ever in Bali and craving some authentic Betawi cuisine, you absolutely have to check out Sunda Kelapa Restaurant on Jl. Kediri No. 41 in Tuban. Seriously, this place is a gem! I recently had brunch there, and let me tell you, it was a total treat. The food? A perfect 5.0/5.0! The service? Another 5.0/5.0! And the atmosphere? Yep, you guessed it—5.0/5.0! You can dine in for around Rp75,000-100,000 per person, which is a steal for the quality you get.
I ordered a bunch of dishes, including Nasi Putih, Soto Mie Risoles, Soto Campur, and Sum-sum. Everything was delicious! I mean, some folks even said, “Tasted surprisingly good.” Others mentioned, “It’s tasty, but the portions could be a bit bigger,” and “Too bad it wasn’t heated up.” Oh, and one person pointed out that “the tomato was overripe.” But honestly, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
What’s cool is that you get a free snack just for leaving a review! The otak-otak and arem-arem served with a lovely sour sauce were a hit at our table. Plus, they have both air-conditioned and fan rooms, which is perfect for escaping the Bali heat. I really loved their Soto Betawi! If you’re looking for halal food in Bali, this is the spot.
The vibe of the place is super homey and pretty. I had the best Soto Betawi in town, and their starters like arem-arem and otak-otak were just superb! The staff were friendly and always smiling, which made the experience even better. Every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, making it an unforgettable experience that lingered until the very last mouthful—all at a budget-friendly price.
Honestly, I can’t wait to go back to Sunda Kelapa Restaurant the next time I’m in Bali. It’s definitely a must-visit!

If you’re ever in Bali and craving some authentic Betawi cuisine, you absolutely have to check out Sunda Kelapa Restaurant on Jl. Kediri No. 41 in Tuban. Seriously, this place is a gem! The food gets a perfect score of 5.0/5.0, and I can totally see why. Everything I tried was just delicious!
Let’s talk about the menu highlights. The Nasi Putih is a must-have, and the Soto Mie is just out of this world. I mean, who doesn’t love a good bowl of soup? The Risoles and Soto Campur were also super tasty, and the Sum-sum was a delightful surprise. One reviewer even said, “The beef rib soup and oxtail soup are extraordinary!” How can you resist that?
Another dish that caught my attention was the kwetiau. It was delicious, though some thought it could be cooked a bit more. And let’s not forget the refreshing aloe vera with basil seeds drink – it tasted surprisingly good!
Now, the atmosphere is just as great as the food. The vibe is homey, and it’s a perfect escape from the Bali heat, especially if you choose to sit indoors. One customer mentioned, “I always come here when I miss eating gado-gado.” It’s nice to know that they cater to those looking for halal food in Bali.
The service? Top-notch! With a rating of 5.0/5.0, the staff is friendly and attentive. One group shared, “We ordered Siomay, Beef Soto Betawi, Fried Rice, and Fried Bihun with avocado juice and unsweetened tea. They served Otak-otak (grilled fish cake with peanut sauce). It wasn’t that busy when we were here, so we enjoyed our lunch time.” Sounds like a perfect way to spend an afternoon!
Overall, if you’re in Bali, Sunda Kelapa Restaurant is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
