The warm, inviting atmosphere reminded me of my mother’s kitchen, filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals and sweet treats. We decided to try the martabak pandan chocolate, and let me tell you, it was the best sweet snack we’ve had here in Bali! I felt a bit uneasy when “Mama” couldn’t clarify the price breakdown and seemed to pretend she didn’t speak English. It left me questioning whether I had fallen victim to a tourist scam. Another diner expressed similar frustrations, stating they paid 42K for a meager portion of rice, two pieces of beef rendang, and some vegetables, leaving them starving. The delivery service also left much to be desired, with waits exceeding an hour even for nearby orders.

Despite these hiccups, the overall experience at Martabak & Terang Bulan ‘Mama’ was heartwarming. The delicious Terang Bulan and Martabak were truly delightful, and I found myself savoring every bite. The love for food was evident, and it resonated with the sentiments of other patrons who praised the dishes as “delicious” and “highly recommended.” It’s a place that, despite its flaws, touches the heart and reminds you of the warmth of home and the joy of sharing meals with loved ones.
