Nasi Gudeg & Nasi Liwet “KEPRABON”, Teuku Umar Barat
Asyifa
Hey there! So, I recently checked out this diner called Gudeg KEPRABON located at Jl. Teuku Umar Barat No. 19 in Denpasar, Bali, and I gotta say, it was quite the experience! The place has a solid rating of 4.5 for food and atmosphere, and a perfect 5.0 for service. Seriously, the staff were super friendly and attentive!
Now, let’s talk about the food. I ordered a few dishes like Nasi Gudeg Komplit, Es Teh Manis Solo, and Krupuk Puli. Everything was delicious! The Gudeg was this wet type, which I absolutely loved. The jackfruit was fresh and not the dried-out stuff you sometimes get. Someone mentioned, “Okay, for the price, it’s quite nostalgic for Jogja rice. The chicken was a bit tough, but everything else was great. Just fix the chicken, please!” And I totally agree, the chicken could use a little work, but overall, the flavors were on point!
Another review I came across said, “Very rich in taste, reminds me of the gudeg in Java. If you miss Javanese food, kindly visit and try the gudeg komplit. Wedang ronde is also good to accompany dinner.” I couldn’t agree more! It really hits that nostalgic spot for anyone missing Javanese cuisine.
One thing to note is that parking can be a bit tricky. It’s somewhat difficult to find a spot, and you might have to settle for paid street parking. But hey, it’s worth it for the food! Just be prepared for a little hunt.
Overall, Gudeg KEPRABON is definitely one of those hidden gems in Denpasar. The prices are super affordable, ranging from Rp25,000-50,000 per person, and the portions are pretty generous. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Bali! If you’re craving some authentic Javanese food, this place should be on your list!

I like tempe bacem.” This sentiment reflects the restaurant’s commitment to delivering a genuine taste of Solo, although some patrons have expressed concerns about the pricing.
On the other hand, another guest highlighted the affordability of the menu, stating, “Very affordable price with yummy Javanese traditional rice and beverage.” This suggests that while some dishes may seem pricey, the overall experience can still be budget-friendly, especially when considering the quality of the food.
However, not all reviews are glowing. One diner remarked, “Pricey and I don’t like it for nasi liwet,” indicating that personal preferences may vary significantly. Additionally, another visitor mentioned, “…gudeg Solo, NOT Jogja, opor and some other side meals. Not too yummy, but not bad as a ‘recovery’ for my missing hometown.” This highlights that while the restaurant may not fully satisfy every palate, it serves as a comforting reminder of home for some.
