Hey foodies! If you find yourself wandering around Sanur, Bali, you’ve got to check out Warung Lalapan Si Jhon on Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai No. 349. This little gem is perfect for a casual dinner after a day of exploring.
So, I decided to dive into their menu and went for the Nasi Putih, Ayam Goreng, and Lele Goreng. Let me tell you, the fried chicken is a must-try! It’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. But, if you’re a spice lover, you might want to bring your own sambal because the one they serve is pretty mild. One reviewer mentioned, “If you like spicy, the sambal is not spicy,” which I totally agree with!
Now, I did hear some mixed reviews about the place. One visitor said, “The food was good, ordered chicken, chicken skin, tempeh, and tofu,” but they were a bit bummed about the wait time. They rated it 4 stars because they felt it took too long compared to other similar spots. So, maybe go in with a little patience!
On the flip side, another guest raved about the sambal, saying, “The sambal they make is so good!” They also loved the Bebek Goreng (fried duck), calling it “soft and tender.” Sounds like a winner to me!
However, I have to mention that the atmosphere isn’t the best. One reviewer pointed out, “The food was ok but so so so so dirty! Very hot, humidity, small place.” So, if you’re looking for a fancy dining experience, this might not be your spot. But hey, it’s cheap! You can grab a meal for around Rp25,000-50,000 per person.
Overall, if you’re in the mood for some local flavors and don’t mind a bit of a wait, Warung Lalapan Si Jhon could be a satisfying stop. Just remember to keep your expectations in check regarding the ambiance!
