Goemerot, Tukad Gangga

Syifa

If you’re ever in Bali and craving some authentic Indonesian food, you gotta check out Goemerot Restaurant on Jl. Tukad Gangga No. 8 in Denpasar. I recently dropped by for lunch, and let me tell you, it was a pretty solid experience overall!

The vibe of the place is chill, with an atmosphere rating of 4.2/5.0. It’s a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I ordered a few dishes, including Nasi Goreng Kambing, Ayam Serosob, and Tahu Gejrot. Everything was delicious! Seriously, the flavors were on point. But I did have a little hiccup with my order. I asked for the Bertutu Kuah, but there was no broth with it. Just rice, dry chicken, and veggies with sambal—no broth at all. It’s actually one of my favorite dishes here, so I was a bit bummed about that. They also forgot to give me sambal, crackers, and lime, which is a bummer since I order it almost every day! Oh, and I got the es pisang ijo, but they didn’t include the bubur sumsumnya. I hope they pay more attention to these details in the future!

But hey, I wasn’t the only one enjoying the food. I overheard some other diners raving about their meals too. One family mentioned, “We had a surprisingly good lunch here on our way to Uluwatu. The chicken sticks were very delicious. I only wish they had more salad options for starters. The dessert and the steak were also good. They have friendly prices too.” Sounds like a win, right?

Another group came in for afternoon tea and desserts and couldn’t stop talking about the hot crispy banana and chocolate spring rolls with ice cream. They were like, “YUM!” And I totally get it—there’s a ton of dessert options available, which is always a plus!

However, not everything was perfect. One diner mentioned that they had the tenderloin steak, but it was super dry and thin, although the mushroom sauce was good. So, it seems like there are some hits and misses depending on what you order.

Overall, I’d say Goemerot Restaurant is worth a visit if you’re in the Renon area. The food is great, the drink options are plentiful, and the desserts are definitely something to try. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Bali!

Bima

If you find yourself wandering through the vibrant streets of Denpasar, Bali, make sure to carve out some time to visit the Goemerot Restaurant, located at Jl. Tukad Gangga No. 8. This culinary gem is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience that immerses you in the rich tapestry of Indonesian culture through its delectable dishes.

As I stepped into Goemerot, I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere. The restaurant boasts an Instagram-worthy outdoor area with a retractable glass roof, allowing natural light to flood the space while providing a classy ambiance. It’s the perfect spot for family gatherings or a casual meal with friends. The decor is a blend of modern elegance and traditional Balinese elements, creating a warm and welcoming environment.

Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu features a delightful variety of Indonesian dishes, and I couldn’t resist trying their signature offerings: Nasi Goreng Kambing, Ayam Serosob, and Tahu Gejrot. The Nasi Goreng Kambing was a standout, with tender pieces of goat meat perfectly seasoned and served with fragrant rice. The Ayam Serosob, a whole chicken dish, was generously spiced, giving it a delightful kick that might surprise foreign palates. And let’s not forget the Tahu Gejrot, which was a deliciously tangy tofu dish that left me craving more.

One of the highlights of my visit was the portion sizes. As one enthusiastic reviewer noted, “The food portion always worth the price!” This sentiment rang true as I found myself completely satisfied without breaking the bank—most meals hover around Rp100,000-125,000 per person. The variety of drinks and desserts, including their generous gelato, added to the overall experience, making it a feast for the senses.

While the service was generally good, I did notice that during peak hours, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. However, their manners and posture were commendable, reflecting the training they’ve received. As another visitor mentioned, “Overall the services are very good.” It’s clear that the team at Goemerot is dedicated to providing a pleasant dining experience, even if they occasionally feel the pressure of a bustling restaurant.

In conclusion, Goemerot Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to dive deeper into the culinary culture of Indonesia. With its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and family-friendly environment, it’s a place where you can truly enjoy the flavors of Bali. So, gather your loved ones, snap some photos in the chic outdoor area, and indulge in a meal that celebrates the essence of Indonesian cuisine. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
