As I stepped into Dapoer Sasak, Udayana, I was immediately enveloped by a wave of nostalgia. The ambiance of this restaurant, reminiscent of my childhood, transported me back to the comforting meals prepared by my mother during family gatherings. The spacious interior, though not clearly visible at night, was a delightful surprise, accommodating our large group of 25 with ease. We settled into the left indoor room, shielded from the lively music outside, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the joy of the evening.
The food was nothing short of a culinary embrace. Each dish was a testament to authentic flavors, with the grilled duck in Sasak style standing out as a must-try. The soup, dessert, and fresh fruit were all delightful, and the polite service made the experience even more enjoyable. As we shared laughter and stories, the atmosphere felt like a warm hug, reminding us of the simple pleasures of life.
While the restaurant is spacious and perfect for gatherings, I did notice that the restroom facilities were somewhat limited for larger groups. However, this minor inconvenience was easily overshadowed by the breathtaking views of the surrounding rice fields and mountains, which provided a serene backdrop for our meal.
The traditional bale-style seating added to the charm, allowing us to relax and savor the moment. The variety of dipping sambals was a delightful surprise, though I must warn fellow travelers that some of them pack quite a punch! Despite a couple of minor hiccups with our orders, the overall experience was heartwarming and fulfilling. The Ayam Taliwang and Pelecing Kangkung were particularly memorable, bursting with flavors that danced on my palate.
As I reflect on my time at Dapoer Sasak, I am filled with gratitude for the memories created there. This restaurant is not just a place to eat; it is a sanctuary where the essence of home-cooked meals and the warmth of family come together. I left with a full heart and a promise to return, eager to relive the magic of this enchanting place.
