If you’re in Bali and craving some authentic Indonesian food, you absolutely have to check out Dapoer Asia! Located on Jalan Raya Semer, this place is a hidden gem that’s perfect for those lazy days when you just don’t feel like cooking. The vibe is super casual, making it a great spot to chill and enjoy a meal.
Now, let’s talk about the food! Their Chicken Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Ayam) is a must-try. It’s packed with flavor and just hits the spot. And if you’re a fan of tempeh, their Tempe Mendoan is crispy and delicious. Don’t forget to try the Sayur Asam, a refreshing vegetable soup that complements the other dishes perfectly.
One visitor said, “Good food, wide selection of menus, clean place and comfy. Place to go when you are lazy to cook or wish to eat authentic Indonesian food.” I couldn’t agree more! The menu has something for everyone, and the cleanliness of the place makes it even more inviting.
Another diner shared their experience, saying, “A true sign of satisfaction over food is when perspiration is dripping down my head to the tip of the strands of my hair as I devour every bit of what is on my plate.” That’s how good the food is! The ambiance is nicely designed, and the staff is super friendly, plus there’s a furry host named Bugie who adds to the charm of the place.
I’ve been here three times, and I can confidently say that they’ve never served a poorly executed dish. One reviewer mentioned, “Simply well-executed Indo greatest hits and some fun asides (fried banana with sambal) with fresh ingredients in a simple dining room with good service.” Seriously, no notes, just cravings!
And if you’re worried about portion sizes, don’t be! One guest was pleasantly surprised by the generous servings, saying, “One of the best if you are craving for Indonesian food with excellent taste; service was fast and easy, ambience is nice and food portion is pretty big.”
With a food rating of 5.0/5.0 and service also at 5.0/5.0, Dapoer Asia is definitely a place you don’t want to miss. The atmosphere gets a solid 4.7/5.0, making it a cozy spot for dinner. Prices are reasonable too, ranging from Rp100,000-175,000 per person, depending on what you order.
So, if you find yourself in Kerobokan, make sure to swing by Dapoer Asia for a delightful culinary experience. You won’t regret it!

Stepping into Dapoer Asia on Jalan Raya Semer in Bali feels like a warm embrace from the past, a nostalgic journey back to the flavors of childhood and family gatherings. The ambiance is inviting, with spacious seating and cozy interiors that make you want to linger a little longer. The friendly staff greets you with genuine smiles, creating an atmosphere that feels like home. However, while the setting is delightful, the food experience has been a mixed bag.
On my first visit, I was eager to dive into the menu, hoping to relive the authentic tastes of Indonesian cuisine. I ordered the gado-gado and tahu gejrot, but to my dismay, the flavors fell a bit flat. They were not as vibrant as I had hoped, lacking the rich spices that Indonesia is known for. It was a reminder that food should evoke emotion, and in this case, it didn’t quite hit the mark. Yet, I hold onto hope that Dapoer Asia will refine their dishes to reflect the true essence of Indonesian cooking.
However, my next visit was a revelation. I tried the soto koya lamongan, and it was nothing short of lovely. The generous portion was filled with tender chicken, and my husband’s soto betawi was equally impressive, earning an 8 out of 10 for its flavorful beef. The service was impeccable, with staff who were attentive and well-trained, a rarity in Bali. The ambiance, enhanced by lovely lighting, made our dining experience even more enjoyable. It was a moment of joy that reminded me of the importance of good food shared with loved ones.
As an Indonesian, I appreciate authenticity in cuisine, and Dapoer Asia delivered on that front during my subsequent visits. The nasi bakul cumi gurih was a standout, a dish that could easily serve three and left us craving more. The flavors were rich and satisfying, a true representation of our traditional food. The reasonable prices only added to the appeal, making it a place I would gladly return to.
Despite some initial hiccups with food preparation times, which can be frustrating, the overall experience at Dapoer Asia has been heartwarming. The restaurant has become a favorite spot for friends and family gatherings, where we can share and savor a variety of dishes. The ice lemon tea is a must-try, and the Iga Konro and Cobekan Cumi Garing have quickly become favorites among our group.
In reflection, Dapoer Asia is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place that touches the heart. It reminds us of the importance of family, the joy of sharing meals, and the beauty of authentic flavors. I look forward to revisiting this cozy haven, hoping to see the menu evolve and embrace the rich tapestry of Indonesian spices that make our cuisine so beloved. Thank you, Dapoer Asia, for the memories and the promise of more delicious moments to come.
