Bakcang Hokkian Bali, Denpasar
Citra
Hey there! So, I recently checked out this spot called Bakcang Hokkian Bali located at Jl. Gn. Talang 6 No. 11 in Denpasar, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! The food gets a solid 4.0 out of 5, but the service and atmosphere? A perfect 5.0! I mean, who doesn’t love a chill place with great vibes?
For lunch, I decided to go all out and ordered a few things: the Bakcang Hokkian Ketan Istimewa Jumbo, Bakcang Hokkian Istimewa Jumbo, and some Kroket Ragout Ayam (5 pcs + Tauco sauce). Everything was delicious! Seriously, one bite and I was full. The portions are huge, the fillings are generous, and the sticky rice wasn’t mushy at all. The kroket and risoles were top-notch too! And the satay pork and bakcang? Pretty good as well!
Some other folks have chimed in about their experiences too. One person said, “The pork satay is delicious. The spring rolls are okay. Prices are affordable.” But not everyone had a great time. Another review mentioned that they bought the fresh and fried spring rolls a few times, but the quality has been slipping. They said, “The skin of the fresh spring rolls was broken 8 out of 10 times, and the fried ones used to be crispy, but lately, they’ve been soggy and oily.” Ouch!
And then there was this one review that was pretty harsh about the bamboo shoots in the spring rolls, saying they had a bad smell and weren’t fresh at all. They really urged the restaurant to improve their food quality before selling it to customers. I get it; nobody wants to eat something that doesn’t taste fresh!
Oh, and I did notice a couple of comments about the service being a bit off, with some people mentioning that their food was forgotten. But honestly, my experience was smooth sailing, and the staff was super friendly.
All in all, I’d definitely swing by Bakcang Hokkian Bali again if I find myself in Bali. It’s got a lot of potential, and I’m hoping they can keep up the quality and service. Until next time!

If you’re ever in Bali and looking for a chill spot to grab some delicious food, you gotta check out Bakcang Hokkian Bali on Jl. Gn. Talang 6 No. 11 in Denpasar. Seriously, this place is a gem! The vibe is super cozy, making it perfect for a laid-back lunch. Plus, the service is top-notch—like, 5 out of 5 stars! The staff is friendly and really attentive, which just adds to the whole experience.
Now, let’s talk about the food. They’ve got some killer dishes that you absolutely have to try. The Bakcang Hokkian Ketan Istimewa Jumbo is a must! It’s this amazing sticky rice dumpling that’s just packed with flavor. And if you’re a fan of savory snacks, the Kroket Ragout Ayam is a winner too—5 pieces of crispy goodness served with a tasty Tauco sauce. Yum!
Most visitors seem to agree that the food is pretty solid, scoring a 4 out of 5 overall. One customer mentioned, “The food is delicious!” which pretty much sums it up. Another said, “The dishes are really tasty!” and I couldn’t agree more. Even though there were a few comments about some inconsistencies in the quality of the spring rolls, like the skin being a bit too soft or breaking easily, the filling is still on point. So, it’s a minor hiccup in an otherwise great meal.
And let’s not forget about the price! You can enjoy a satisfying lunch here for around Rp50,000-75,000 per person, which is pretty reasonable considering the quality of the food and service.
All in all, Bakcang Hokkian Bali is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I know I’ll be coming back for more delicious bites next time I’m in Bali!
