If you’re in Bali and craving some authentic local cuisine, you absolutely have to check out Babi Guling Rahayu in Nusa Dua. This place is a hidden gem, especially if you’re a fan of spicy food! We stumbled upon it when our original dinner spot was closed, and even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff were super accommodating and served us anyway. Talk about great service!
Now, let’s talk about the food. We ordered the regular Babi Guling and the special version, along with some Sate Babi. The dishes came out pretty quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. The flavors were on point, but be warned – it’s spicy! I personally loved the heat, but my daughters struggled a bit with it. So, if you’re not a fan of spicy food, maybe ask for a milder version.
One thing to note is that the prices can be a bit higher for tourists. After dining in, I checked Grab and saw that the price was significantly lower for takeout. So, definitely keep that in mind if you’re looking to save some cash. But honestly, the taste was worth it for me, even if it was a bit pricier than expected.
The seating area was clean and decent, but there were no prices displayed on the menu, which was a bit odd. They serve Babi Guling as a set, so you can’t really mix and match sides, but the meal was satisfying overall. We were actually recommended this place by our taxi driver, who said it’s where the locals go now since other spots have gotten too pricey. And I can see why – it’s a solid choice!
Overall, I’d give Babi Guling Rahayu a solid 4.5 out of 5 for food and service. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this delicious experience!

If you’re ever in Bali and craving some authentic Balinese cuisine, you gotta check out Babi Guling Rahayu located on By Pass Ngurah Rai in Nusa Dua. Seriously, this place is a gem! I recently dropped by for dinner and I was super impressed. The food gets a solid 4.5 out of 5, and the service is just as good. The atmosphere is chill, scoring a 4.0, perfect for a laid-back meal.
So, I went all out and ordered a few dishes: the Babi Guling Biasa, Babi Guling Spesial, and Sate Babi. Let me tell you, everything was delicious! The packaging was neat and clean, and the portions were just right for my taste. I even asked for the sambal on the side, and they totally nailed it. Definitely planning to come back for more!
Now, I did come across some mixed reviews while I was there. One person mentioned, “Love the babi guling here,” which totally resonated with me. But then there was another who said, “Food is delicious but the portion size is very small. It’s on the spicy side. Pork skin was crispy!” They also pointed out that tourists might get charged double, which is a bit of a bummer. I mean, come on, we should all pay the same price, right?
Another review said, “Clean and decent seating space. There are no prices displayed. They sell the Babi Guling as a set and we weren’t able to buy more of the sides. It was delicious and spicy! A satisfying meal overall.” But not everyone was thrilled; one person felt it was a tourist trap, saying, “The babi guling wasn’t great. Seemed like a tourist trap for people who don’t know what to expect.”
Despite the mixed feelings, I had a great experience and would definitely return to Babi Guling Rahayu next time I’m in Bali. If you’re looking for a tasty meal without breaking the bank (prices range from Rp25,000 to Rp100,000), this spot is worth a visit!
