Stepping into The Old Champ Cafe in Merdeka, Bali, feels like a warm embrace from the past. The moment you enter, you are greeted by an atmosphere that whispers nostalgia, reminiscent of childhood meals and family vacations. The cafe truly nails it all—fantastic food, stellar service, and a chill vibe that makes you want to linger just a little longer. It’s a place where every bite tells a story, and every sip of your drink feels like a toast to good times.

As I settled in, I couldn’t help but think, “How did I not know about this gem sooner?” This cafe is undoubtedly one of the best spots for grilled and Western foods. The ambiance is perfect for spending quality time with friends and family, and the staff are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home. The generous portions of chicken wings were a delightful surprise, and I found myself savoring every crispy bite. It’s a place that will definitely be on my list for future visits.

The menu is a treasure trove of flavors. I tried the sop buntut, which was rich and comforting, and the fish and chips that were perfectly crispy. For just 160K, I enjoyed two dishes and a hot tea, which felt like a steal for such quality. The food is not just tasty; it’s a celebration of authentic flavors that transport you back to simpler times.

While the cafe was bustling with energy, the staff managed the crowd with grace. The food presentation was stunning, though I found the drinks to be a bit lacking. The Garlic Shrimp pasta was delightful, but the Caesar Salad’s dressing missed the mark. Despite this minor hiccup, the servers were polite and attentive, ensuring that my experience remained enjoyable.

As I reflect on my visit to The Old Champ Cafe, I am filled with warmth and gratitude. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a sanctuary of flavors that touches the heart. It reminds us of the joy of sharing meals with loved ones and the simple pleasures of life. I left with a full belly and a happy heart, already dreaming of my next visit to relive those cherished moments.

If you’re ever in Bali, you absolutely have to check out The Old Champ on Jl. Merdeka No. 10 B in Denpasar. Seriously, this place is a gem! I recently went there for dinner, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember. The food? A solid 5.0/5.0! The service? Another 5.0/5.0! And the atmosphere? Yep, you guessed it, 5.0/5.0! You can’t go wrong here.

I ordered a few dishes, including the Jumbo Chicken Parmigiana, Mix Toc Basket, and the Spicy Sweet Fried Chicken Pizza. Everything was delicious! I mean, the Jumbo Chicken Parmigiana was just out of this world. One reviewer even said, “The ribs are super tasty, but the veggies were a bit overcooked.” I totally get that! I really enjoyed every bite of it. And don’t even get me started on the pizza – it’s a must-try!

Another guest mentioned, “This experience is one of the most satisfying eat-out experiences I ever had. Went here with my family, and the food delivered. The portion is as advertised and did not lie about how many people it would be enough for. The price was a little expensive but it’s worth every penny. 10/10 service, food, and pork pizza.” They did have a point about the service being a bit too attentive at times, but hey, they just want to make sure you’re taken care of!

The place itself is nice and spacious, with fast and friendly staff. One reviewer said, “The food is tasty… I ordered hot tea for drink. Price is standard resto. I paid 160 K for 2 dishes and 1 drink.” And honestly, for the quality of food you get, the prices are pretty reasonable, ranging from Rp75,000-100,000 per person.

Plus, they have plenty of parking, which is always a win in Bali! And if you’re bringing kids, they’ve got a menu that’s suitable for them too. Overall, I’d say The Old Champ is definitely a must-visit spot. I can’t wait to go back the next time I’m in Bali!
