KEDAI HONIU, Denpasar Barat
Cinta
Stepping into KEDAI HONIU in West Denpasar feels like a warm embrace from the past, a nostalgic journey back to childhood memories filled with the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. The ambiance is casual and inviting, reminiscent of family gatherings where laughter and love are served alongside delicious food. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Mie Ayam Jamur, which was quite good, especially the noodles and soup. Each slurp brought back memories of my mother’s cooking, a taste that felt both familiar and heartwarming.
However, not everything was perfect. The Pangsit kuah was a disappointment, leaving a bitter aftertaste that lingered far too long. I could only manage to eat two before I had to set them aside. But the hygienic utensils, with chopsticks and straws wrapped in plastic, reassured me of the restaurant’s commitment to cleanliness. The sambal and sliced chili were delightful, and I appreciated the generous serving of pickled cucumber that added a refreshing crunch to my meal.
The local atmosphere was casual, and I found solace in a nice glass of iced milk coffee, which complemented my meal perfectly. The prices were incredibly reasonable, making it a great spot for families. However, I do hope they pay a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the toilets, as my child always seems to need to go!
Among the other dishes, I particularly enjoyed the mie ayam komplit and the srikaya toast. The fried kwetiau could use a bit more smokiness, perhaps by using a traditional Chinese-style wok, but it was still enjoyable. The srikaya toast was delicious, though I wished the egg was cooked a bit differently for dipping. The chili oil on the noodles was impressively spicy, and the fried dumplings were decent, albeit slightly burnt. The porridge was a favorite, though the dumplings had a bit too much green onion for my taste.
In the end, KEDAI HONIU is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place that touches the heart. It reminds us of the simple joys of food and family, where every dish tells a story. Despite a few hiccups, the overall experience was delightful, and I left with a full stomach and a happy heart, eager to return for another taste of nostalgia.
Naufal
If you’re looking for a chill spot to grab some delicious local eats, you gotta check out KEDAI HONIU on Jalan Kebo Iwa Utara No.2. This place has a cozy vibe that makes you feel right at home, and the prices are super friendly too, with meals ranging from Rp25,000 to Rp50,000.
Now, let’s talk about the food! Their Mi Ayam Komplit is a hit! The noodles are cooked just right, and the soup is flavorful. One visitor mentioned, “The Mie Ayam Jamur was quite good, especially the noodle and soup.” But, not everything was a win; they weren’t a fan of the Pangsit Kuah, saying it had a “bitter aftertaste (like really bitter)” and they could only manage to eat two before giving up. So, maybe skip that one if you’re not into bitter flavors!
On the bright side, the place is clean, and the utensils are hygienic, with chopsticks and straws wrapped in plastic. Plus, they’re generous with the sambal and sliced chili, which is a nice touch. One reviewer loved the pickled cucumber, saying, “I like the sambal, and sliced chili, and they are generous enough with the pickled cucumber and I love it.”
If you’re a coffee lover, don’t miss out on their ice milk coffee – it’s a perfect companion to your meal. The atmosphere is casual and local, making it a great spot to relax. Just a heads up, one parent mentioned, “I hope they clean the toilets (somehow my kid always wants to go),” so maybe keep that in mind if you’re bringing the little ones!
Overall, KEDAI HONIU scores a solid 4.2 for food, 4.7 for service, and 4.3 for atmosphere. With friendly staff and a clean environment, it’s definitely worth a visit. So grab your friends or family and head over for a tasty lunch!
