Balistan Indian Restaurant -Finest INDIAN In BALI, Canggu, Bali
Fikri
So, let me take you on a little culinary adventure to BALISTAN Indian Restaurant, located at Jl. Pantai Berawa No.288, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali. Now, if you’re looking for a place that serves up some serious Indian flavors while keeping you on your toes with a little electrical drama, then this is the spot for you!
First off, the decor is like a black-and-white movie set, but instead of Humphrey Bogart, you’ve got the aroma of spices wafting through the air. I walked in thinking, “Wow, this place is fancy!” But then, just as I was about to order, the lights started playing hide and seek. Seriously, it was like a disco party gone wrong! One minute, I was ready to chow down, and the next, I was in a scene from a horror movie, wondering if I’d need to use my phone flashlight to find my food.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I decided to go for the TAWA CHAPATI (Indian bread) and the Lamb Mandi Rice Single. The chapati was like a warm hug for my taste buds, and the lamb? Oh boy, it was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. I mean, if I could marry a dish, this would be it!
But then, there was the palak paneer. It was good, but the signature naan? Let’s just say it was more “meh” than “wow.” And the fish curry? Well, let’s just say it was more like fish soup with a side of rubbery fish. I was half-expecting it to start bouncing off the plate! I thought I was eating shark meat at one point, but thankfully, the lights flickered back on, and I realized it was just some Spanish mackerel. Phew!
The service was a bit of a comedy show too. The waiter looked like he was auditioning for a role in a sitcom, trying to figure out the menu while the chef swooped in like a superhero to save the day. And let’s not forget the manager, who was basically my knight in shining armor when it came time to pay. Without him, I might still be there, held hostage by the POS system!
Now, don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious overall. I mean, who doesn’t love a good chicken tandoori and garlic naan? The outdoor seating on the second floor was a nice touch too, perfect for those Instagram shots. Just make sure to check if the generator is plugged in before you go, or you might end up dining in a yellow stew of mystery!
So, if you’re in Bali and looking for a place that serves up some authentic Indian cuisine with a side of electrical excitement, BALISTAN is your go-to. Just remember to bring a flashlight and maybe a rubber ducky for the fish curry!

So, let me take you on a little culinary adventure to BALISTAN Indian Restaurant, located at Jl. Pantai Berawa No.288, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali. I mean, if you’re in Bali and not eating Indian food, are you even living your best life? Seriously, it’s like going to Paris and skipping the croissants. Sacrilege!
First off, the ambiance is pretty chill. It’s clean, spacious, and I could practically hear my stomach singing as I walked in. They’re even working on a rooftop dining area! I can already picture myself up there, pretending to be fancy while I stuff my face with naan. And let’s be real, who doesn’t want to eat Indian food while feeling like royalty?
Now, let’s talk about the food. I decided to go for the TAWA CHAPATI (Indian bread) and the Lamb Mandi Rice Single. I mean, who doesn’t love a good carb fest? The chapati was so soft, it practically melted in my mouth. I felt like I was eating a cloud. A delicious, buttery cloud. And the lamb? Oh boy, it was so tender that I almost started a petition to make it the official meat of Bali. Seriously, I could have sworn it was giving me puppy eyes as I devoured it.
One of the other diners, an English chap who’s been living in Bali for a while, raved about the mutton curry he had. He said it was “one of the best curries” he’s ever had! I mean, if a guy who’s toured India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan says that, you know it’s legit. He even complimented the chef, which is basically like giving a standing ovation to a rock star. I’m pretty sure the chef was blushing behind the kitchen door.
And let’s not forget about the Chicken Biryani that another couple ordered. They were practically swooning over the Jeera Rice and tender chicken. I mean, who knew rice could make you feel like you just won the lottery? They also tried the Chef’s Speciality Naan, which is basically naan with pepper and cheese. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a party in my mouth!
Oh, and the Garlic Naan? Apparently, it’s so good that it could double as dessert. I mean, who needs cake when you have naan that’s practically begging you to take a bite? I’m convinced that naan is the real MVP of this restaurant.
Now, the service was pretty solid too. The staff was friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. I mean, nothing ruins a meal faster than a grumpy waiter. And the prices? A little on the higher side, but hey, you get what you pay for, right? Plus, it’s worth every penny when you’re feasting like a king.
So, if you’re ever in Bali and craving some Indian food, do yourself a favor and hit up BALISTAN. Your taste buds will thank you, and you might just leave with a new best friend in the form of a chapati. Trust me, it’s a love story waiting to happen!
